I feel your pain. The only thing that could make that image a more appropriate visual metaphor is if the signs were written in Elvish, or some other made-up language.

Elvish is related to Esperanto, isn't it? Somehow I suspect learning either would be more useful than doing a PhD.

I heard on the science show this arvo that we're all supposedly born with perfect-pitch- we've got it in the first year, and then it degrades if you you don't use it.
don't ask me for a reference. i don't care.

on difficult signage... I think that it's actually a pity that all the mistranslated signs are being changed for the olympics in China. They're a little bit of sunshine in a grey, grey world.
